King James Version (KJV)
“11 And they sang together by course in praising and giving thanks unto the Lord (YHWH); because he is good, for his mercy endureth for ever toward Israel. And all the people shouted with a great shout, when they praised the Lord (YHWH), because the foundation of the house of the Lord (YHWH) was laid.”
This occurring after Judah returns from serving the prophetic 70 years in Babylon, but why did they end there? because they turned from YH, the Father or Word /Wisdom of Elohim – our Salvation. Curious enough, though the book of Ezra precedes Nehemiah (in most modern Bible translations), the first thing that occurs upon their return is not the rebuilding of the Temple’s foundation (Ezra’s task) instead it was the enormous task of rebuilding Jerusalem’s walls; done by Nehemiah and others who had actually arrived before Ezra.
Why did this happen in this order? So the temple’s foundation (where the Word would reside) would be protected from it’s reproachers (the enemy, he who opposes the Word – today the anti-Messiah – Satan).
The moral of the story? We must build up our temple walls (become set-apart from the World) so we don’t risk loosing the Word within: For failing to understand that, the Tanahk tells us, they lived several experiences of extreme suffering and hardship, and no different to the disobedient Adam and Eve; lessons meant for us, that Israel and Judah would learn first hand. Once secure in Jerusalem, the temple foundation was completed and they all gathered together to thank YHWH, as a people, for extending His goodness and mercy (His salvation) again: And they Worshiped (humbled themselves to) YHWH. HalleluYH, Amein, Amein.
Nehemiah 2:17 (Was called by YHWH to Jerusalem before Ezra)
“17 Then said I unto them, Ye see the distress that we are in, how Jerusalem lieth waste, and the gates thereof are burned with fire: come, and let us build up the wall of Jerusalem, that we be no more a reproach.” Amein :)
